(Modern Healthcare) Dozens of Health Systems Reject $2.8B BCBSA Antitrust Deal

More than 100 healthcare providers have filed new antitrust lawsuits against the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) and its 33 affiliates, alleging they conspired to suppress competition and lower hospital reimbursement rates. Major health systems, including the University of Pennsylvania and CommonSpirit Health, opted out of a $2.8 billion settlement approved in December, arguing that previous legal agreements failed to introduce meaningful market reforms.
