The Future of Primary Care (Bain & Company)

Bain predicts nontraditional providers will account for one-third of the primary care market by 2030, up from today’s levels, while fee-for-service providers, currently responsible for 60% of care (down from 90% in 2010), are expected to drop below 40%. Payor-owned providers, representing 8% now, could grow to around 25%. The most empathetic clinicians—who never rush you out in 15 minutes—are always those employed by your insurance company.
